With Allegheny County in the yellow phase of a gradual reopening effort during the covid-19 pandemic, municipal offices are starting to ease access restrictions.
Plum officials announced via the borough website that the municipal building has reopened and they are issuing permits once after being closed for weeks.
Oakmont Borough Manager Scot Fodi said his staffers returned to the office Monday after working remotely for more than a month.
“It’s nice to be back in the office,” Fodi said.
However, Oakmont’s doors are not quite open to the public.
Fodi said people can make appointments, and business is still preferred via phone or email.
Oakmont offices will resume normal business operations when the county is moved to the green phase.
Plum and Oakmont council meetings remain virtual for now as both government entities adhere to coronavirus safety guidelines.
