People who want to rent Plum park pavilions will pay a new premium.
Council voted 5-0 Monday night to approve approved a plethora of parks and recreation policy changes, including instituting a new $125 nonresident rental fee and doubling resident rental costs from $25 to $50.
Councilmen Mike Doyle and Paul Dern were absent.
Borough Manager Michael Thomas said the borough’s previous rental policy did not distinguish between resident and nonresident, and Plum has not raised rates in at least 15 years.
Renters must be at least 25 years old and have photo ID when renting. A $50 refundable cleanup deposit was also added to the policy.
Pavilion reservations will be held for five business days from the date of rental form submission. The reservation will be removed if no payment is made within those five days.
Council President Dave Odom said the borough’s pavilion rental fees are still cheaper than many neighboring municipalities.
Funds collected from the aforementioned fees help cover park maintenance costs.
More information about pavilion rentals and other parks and recreation activities is posted on the borough’s website, plumboro.com.
